Anne Sophie Kapsner (GER)

works as a theatre director, author and artistic researcher. Anne studied theatre studies and language, literature and culture with a focusing on Swedish at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and at Stockholm University [2010-2014]. From 2014 to 2020, she studied theatre directing at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main.

From 2020 to 2022, Anne was assistant director at the Münchner Kammerspiele. Anne’s interdisciplinary works move in the border area between documentation, drama and pop aesthetics. They are usually based on biographical events.

For NUR DIE LIEBE ZÄHLT, haben sie gesagt [Pathos Theater München, Staatstheater Mainz], Anne explored love in capitalism and also appeared on stage as a performer herself. Anne receives regular funding from the Fonds Darstellende Künste. In 2024, Anne will work with Falk Richter at Dramaten Stockholm on the production King Lear. Anne is fluent in Swedish.
