Tina Satter (USA)

is a writer and director for theater and film. She has an MFA in Creative Writing from Brooklyn College, a BA in English from Bowdoin College and an MA in Liberal Studies from Reed College. In 2008 she founded the theater company Half Straddle in NYC and toured with her productions at theater festivals worldwide. The company received an Obie Award in 2013.
Her most recent production, IS THIS A ROOM, premiered at The Kitchen, NYC in 2019 and went into production on Broadway in 2021. It was filmed under the new title REALITY, directed by Tina Satter, and celebrated its world premiere to rave reviews at the 2023 Berlin International Film Festival. Also in 2023, Tina Satter worked for the first time as a director at the Schaubuehne Berlin, where she staged her play HOUSE OF DANCE with the ensemble, opening the FIND Festival.
