Lina Sieckmann (GER)

studied experimental film and photography at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne from 2009 to 2015 and at the Academy of Arts Düsseldorf from 2016-2016.
 She works as a freelance artist, writer and director between Cologne and Portland, USA.

In 2012, she started collaboration with Miriam Gossing as the artist & filmmaker duo Gossing/Sieckmann.
 Together they have produced several experimental long and short films on 16-mm, combining documentary images with fiction and found-footage elements.

In 2012 they founded the independent art space SCHALTEN UND WALTEN and since then they program experimental film screenings, exhibitions and performance events 
and since 2019 the “BLONDE COBRA – Festival for Queer & Experimental Cinema” in Cologne.
 Their hybrid feature-length film SIRENS CALL will be released in 2024.

Lina’s work has been shown internationally in exhibitions and film festivals (including Hamburger Bahnhof – Museum für Gegenwart, Julia Stoschek Collection, Internationale Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen, International Film Festival Rotterdam, Image Forum Tokyo and Anthology Film Archives New York City) and has received numerous awards (including Deutscher Kurzfilmpreis , Chargesheimer Stipendium der Stadt Köln, Internationale Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen, Förderpreis Film des Landes NRW, Wim Wenders Stipendium, DAAD Grant New York/LA , Stiftung Kunstfonds).
