Mehmet Akif Büyükatalay (GER)

is a film writer and director.
Raised in Hagen, he studied Media Arts at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne and graduated with the feature film drama ORAY, which was awarded Best First Feature at the Berlinale 2019 and won numerous international Awards. He was a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation.
Together with Claus Reichel he works as producer and managing director of the film production company filmfaust. Currently, Mehmet is in production for his second feature film HYSTERIA.
In 2024, Mehmet is part of FACE TO FACE WITH GERMAN FILMS Campagne.
